Playing locally is a must for this game, because managing the three heroes individually can be a headache. The Definitive Edition offers a mixture of stages from both games, as well as the ability to play local co-op. However, it lacks some major features, including save states, screen size or border options, and filters. There is also the Definitive Edition has extra levels and three-player support. It also offers both the SNES and Mega Drive/Genesis versions of the game. For one, The Lost Vikings now has the added ability to rewind and correct errors.
